Thomas S. Kupper, MD, BWH Dermatology Chairman, T32 Principal Investigator

Dr. Kupper is the Chair of the Department of Dermatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and the Thomas B Fitzpatrick Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School. He is the Director of the Cutaneous Oncology Disease Center and leads the Cutaneous Lymphoma Program at the Dana-Farber Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center. One of Dr. Kupper’s highest priorities is to preserve and enhance the role of the physician-scientist in modern academic medicine, particularly to study processes relevant to skin disease and skin cancer. He has served as the PI of this T32 grant since 2000.

Trainee Application Process

Eligibility /Qualifications:

·  MD, PhD, MD-PhD, or equivalent degree.

·  Appointments to this training grant are restricted to US citizens, non-citizen national or permanent residents of the United States per NIH guidelines.

·  Two-year training commitment.

·  Trainees are required to pursue their research training full time, defined as 40 hours per week to the program and its related research activities.

Dermatology T32 Trainees will receive:

·  Annual stipend at the NIH-specified level, based on full years of relevant postdoctoral experience at the time of appointment.

·  Tuition limited to that required for specific courses in support of the approved training program.

·   Travel funds for a training experience, such as attendance and presentation of research at a national conference.
